Take The Next Step
Late last year I was talking with a friend and the topic of life insurance came up and he mentioned that he didn't have any. This person is 38 years old, married and they have one child, 7 years old. They both work to support their lifestyle.
Without getting too animated and remaining calm (I'm very passionate about life insurance and protecting one's family), I asked why they didn't have any life insurance. He said it's just not something they thought was in their budget and would think about getting it later when they could afford it.
I asked him one simple question, if on your bike ride yesterday something bad had happened and you had never come home, what exactly happens to your wife and daughter today? They would definitely have to sell the house and most likely move in with her parents in another state. It became pretty clear to him at that moment, as he thought through the scenario, that they both needed life insurance.
It opened my eyes to how many others out there think life insurance is something they can just get later. If an income source is gone, I am sure the surviving family is thankful for the thoughts and prayers and trays of food. But when everyone is gone, what they really need is a check! Whether it's me, or another agent, the most important part is that someone is there to deliver that check. It may come with tears and a hug, but it's that check that saves the family. I don't want to ever have to deliver that check to a young family, but I would feel MUCH worse showing up and not having it.
If you don't have life insurance, or maybe it's time for a review, call me or call someone today. If you know someone that needs protection, urge them to take the next step.
